Johnston Dick and Associates (JDA) have selected Harris Maxiva™ UAX Transmitters as part of the DTT Extension recently announced by the Ministry of Culture and Heritage (MCH) on 4 February 2011.

JDA will establish Freeview DTT Services in nine (9) new regions as part of the MCH initiative, which will see coverage of the Freeview DTT services extend from 75 percent to 87 percent of the NZ population.

The Harris Maxiva™ UAX air-cooled UHF solid-state transmitter incorporates Harris® PowerSmart™ technology and the Apex M2X™ multimedia exciter technology to provide unmatched performance, reliability and quality. Designed with future broadcasting needs in mind, the Maxiva UAX transmitter is a single-transmitter platform capable of multiple modulation schemes and industry leading performance.

General Manager of Asia-Pacific Transmission for Harris Broadcast, Jishun Mei said "Harris is delighted that JDA has chosen the Harris Maxiva UAX to help deliver the best quality of service, with leading technology and performance and in conjunction with our supporting partner, The Bridge Networks. Maxiva transmitters are deployed in many countries across Asia and we welcome the opportunity to bring DTT benefits, with improved quality of services, to an even larger cross-section of viewers through the Maxiva transmission platform."
